EXPERIENCE

5/03-present Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at Texas A&M University. Member of Environmental and Planning and Sustainability Lab.
- Conducted research in collaborative ecosystem management. Administered a survey to on forest companies participation in collaborative ecosystem management. Article is titled “Motivations for the forestry industry to participate in collaborative ecosystem management initiatives” and is in press for Journal of Forest Policy and Economics.
- Conducted research in what drives nonconformity or sprawl within Southern Florida. This paper has been submitted for publication in the Journal of the American Planning Association.
- Currently completing my Masters research on the placement of mitigation banks in Florida, which will eventually be submitted for publication.
2/03 Judged district cross-examination debate at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School.
6/02-8/02 Water Quality Specialist Intern at the Colorado River Municipal Water District (CRMWD) in Big Spring, Texas. Conducted routine field sampling of river, streams, and reservoirs as well as updated the CRMWD Water Sampling Standard Operating Procedure Manual.
5/01-8/01 Office manager/secretary for Systek Computing Technologies in Bryan, Texas.
3/00 Judged at University Interscholastic League State Cross-Examination Debate.
9/97-8/98 Employed by Karl W. Vancil, Attorney-at-Law. Worked as law office clerk.

Served as Public Relations officer. Promoted organization and encouraged students to join. Organized social gatherings and activities for the organization.
Spring 1999 - Member of the campaign committee for Will Hurd during his run for Student Body President. Assisted in organization of campaign layout. Endorsed and explained Will Hurd’s campaign platform to student body.
- Selected to the Student Leadership Institute. Attended weekly luncheons that presented interactive discussions about leadership qualities and development.
1998-1999 - Selected as member for Aggie Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT), a freshman leadership organization. Participated in community service activities and developed leadership qualities.
